The Disease Caused By Lack Of Protein

Protein is a substance that is part of the cells, tissues and organs throughout the body. According to the Centers for Disease Control, lack of protein is common among people who live in developing countries, those who live in poor communities in developed countries and on parents who do not have access to nutritious food. Protein deficiency also affects people who are born with a genetic disorder to produce certain proteins, and people with diseases that cause them to lose their appetite and muscle disorders.

Marasmus (whole body became weak)
Marasmus is a disease caused by lack of protein and calories are severely enough that affects infants and children, often results in weight loss and dehydration. Marasmus can progress into starvation and death caused by deficiency of essential nutrients. People with marasmus looks emaciated with a bit of muscle tissue.
Kwashiorkor
Kwashiorkor is a disease caused by severe deficiencies in protein diet calorie-containing most of the carbohydrates like Yam, rice and bananas. This usually affects children, adolescents. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center people with kwashiorkor swollen stomach appear in the area of fluid retention. Common symptoms of marasmus and kwashiorkor are both exhausted, quick tempered, diarrhea, stunted growth and impaired cognition and mental health.
Cachexia
Cachexia is a condition involving the protein deficiency, depletion of skeletal muscle and an increased level of protein degradation, according to research by DP Kotler published in "Annals of Internal Medicine" in 2000. According to JE Morley in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" causing Cachexia, weight-loss, death, cancer, AIDS, chronic renal disease, lung disease, obstructive chronic and rheumatoid arthritis. Patients with malignant cancer of the stomach, intestines, liver, bile duct and pancreatic disorders, have fatigue and negative nitrogen balance as a result of the loss of muscle mass of cachexia, the source of which was written by j. Ockenga in "gastrointestinal Pharmacology and therapy" in 2005.
